Abstract
192,777. Ritter, E. Nov. 8, 1921. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Tampering with, preventing. - Means for covering and preventing access to the locks of trunks &c. comprise bands such as 3, Fig. 1, fitted with shields 4 adapted to cover the locks, the bands being secured to the shields by the stud and key-hole slot arrangement shown in Fig. 4. The free end of one band is passed through an eye 6, Fig. 2, on the end of the other and doubled on itself, a padlock being then placed on a staple 15 passed through holes in the first band and the doubled end. The bands may comprise a series of hinged portions, Fig. 6, to ensure a good fit at the corners of the trunk. When a trunk is without ribs or battens 2, Fig. 1, the bands may be connected to a third band passing horizontally around the trunk.
