Abstract

Alkali metal compounds, obtaining from complex silicates Phosphatic manures are made by heating to a sintering or fusion temperature phosphate rock with a considerable proportion of potassium-magnesium carbonate and a silicate material such as phonolite, leucite or feldspar. Other substances such as soda may also be added. The potash in the silicate is thus rendered soluble.ALSO:Phosphatic manures are made by heating to sintering or fusion temperature phosphate rock, with a considerable proportion of potassium-magnesium carbonate, and, if desired, a silicate material such as phonolite, leucite, or feldspar, but the silicate material is not necessary if the phosphate contains enough silica; other substances such as soda may also be added. The potash in the silicate is thus rendered soluble as well as the phosphate.
