Abstract
225,591. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (General Electric Co.). July 28, 1923. Regulating switches; high-tension switches ; actuating.-A adapted to make a variety of connections between different pairs of contacts to be used for instance in varying the tap connections from a transformer-winding, comprises a contact-member rotatable about an axis and eccentric to the operating axis but concentric to the axis of symmetry of the contacts. The wheel 11, Fig. 2 (19387/23), rotating round the inner periphery of the wheel 12 pulls the inner end of contactmaker 10 from between the contacts 2. the outer end moving straight into the contacts 3 and so on. Fig. 6 (19387/23) shows a modification with three laminated contacts at 120‹ to one another. The contact maker 11, Fig. 2. (19388/23). bridging the contacts 1 and 4, is forced on operation further on to contact 4, the two parts gaping open against the pressure of the springs 12. Continued actuation takes the arms off the contact 1 to swing them counterclockwise till thev each are forced on to the contact 7. Fig. 6 (19388/23) shows a modification acting similarly but with movable contacts 31 bridging adjacent contacts 22, 23.
