Abstract

225,250. Nance, C. W. May 23, 1923. Aspirating-apparatus, ejector. - In a mixing condenser of the type in which air is withdrawn by a jet of water a portion of which, after serving in the injector, is used as condensing water the remainder of the water is circulated by a pump and reused. The water is drawn from a tank 20 by a pump 19 and passed to a five-fold. jet 2 in a chamber 1, whence it issues through a pipe 3, entraining air, and passes to a tank 7. From the pipe 7 passes a pipe 13 into which opens the steam inlet 11. The pipe 13 communicates with the chamber 1 through an opening 10 and terminates in a barometric pipe 12. From the tank 7 an overflow pipe 19 leads to the tank 20. The pipe 3 opens into a chamber 6 communicating with the tank 7 through a wider pipe 5. It is stated that this arrangement prevents water from being drawn from the tank 7 into the chamber 1. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 106,725, [Class 32, Distilling &c.].
