Abstract

224,285. Cruse, H. Aug. 7, 1923. Fibrous materials and non-metallic fabrics, treating; acetates, obtaining. - Fibres of cotton, flax, wool, silk or the like are impregnated with acetates by immersion in a bath in which the acetate is produced by electrolysis. The material may be caused to flow with the electrolyte between some or all of the electrodes. In impregnating with aluminium acetate, an electrolyte of acetic acid, and anodes of aluminium are employed. The cathodes may be of aluminium or an alloy thereof or of other material. The electrodes may be in motion or stationary. Specification 213,088 is referred to.
