Abstract

224,104. Ruscoe, E. Dec. 4, 1923. Tyre attachments to rims; detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-Relates to rims in which one flange is wholly or partly detachable to facilitate manipulation of the tyre. As shown in Fig. 4, the detachable flange D and main part of the rim have abutting inwardly directed webs A, E which are secured together by screws C, the complete rim being detachably secured to the wheel by transverse bolts B. As shown in Fig. 9, the two parts of the rim K, N have a lap joint and are secured together by radial screws at O. The complete rim is detachably secured on the wheel between a stop flange L and plates M. Fig. 6 shows a rim in which the main part is integral with the felloe, and the detachable part G is provided with lugs H by which it is attached. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 9908/07, 21280/07, 10916/12, 23200/12, 29756/12, 152,151, 190,007, and 198.301.
