Abstract
223,613. Currie, J. G. April 18, 1923. Fuselages; planes and the like, arrangement and disposition of.-A fuselage 5, Fig. 1, having a longitudinal cross-section of pterygoid aerofoil cross-section, has at all lateral cross-sections a greater width than depth, and its upper convex surface meets (or continuations of or marginal tangents to it would meet) the lower surface (or continuations of or marginal tangetns to it) at an acute angle. Fig. 2 shows the cross-section of the fuselage 5 at a point where the wings 6 merge into it, while Fig. 4 shows a cross-section towards the tail. The under surface may be flat, prismatic, or concave. Preferably the upper surface has a considerably greater area than the under surface, and the meeting lines of the upper and lower surfaces lie below the centre of the fuselage.
