Abstract

223,276. Franklin, C. S. June 20, 1923. Vacuum tubes.-In a valve for generating oscillations, the grid G and cathode F are supported from and sealed into opposite ends, and the anode A is not supported from or sealed at either end. When the anode forms part of the envelope it is sealed into a glass cylinder D carrying the cathode, and into a glass cylinder B to which is sealed a metal plate C carrying the grid. When the envelope is entirely of glass the anode supports and seal are arranged midway between the ends. The grid supports E consist of stout rods.
