Leakage-preventing devices; wear, preventing and adjusting for.-The impeller b of a centrifugal pump is provided with a steadying and packing ring d having one or more cylindrical bearing surfaces v and two or more restricted end-clearances u adjustable by hand through which endclearances leakage fluid flows radially. The steadying and packing ring d is adjusted axially by screwing a bush e in which the ring d is fixed. The steadying and packing ring d may be fitted at either side of the impeller. Specification 100,858 is referred to.
