Abstract

222,378. Thorsby, K. J. Feb. 25, 1924. Check hinged valves.-A valve 7 is pivoted to a seat 2 at the end of a drain pipe by means of double hinged links 9 one at each side. The pivots 8 are placed in the centre line above the centre of gravity. The bearing for the upper pivot may be elongated as shown to allow for adjustment to various angles of the pipe end. Stops may be provided on the valve to engage the ends of the links to prevent jamming of the valve when the bearings become worn.
