Animal - carrying vehicles; bodies. - Relates to road transport vehicles of the kind in which one or more vertically adjustable platforms 10 are adapted either to rest upon the floor 6 or to be raised to and fixed at any desired height. In order to provide suitable drainage, particularly when the vehicle is used for the transport of live stock, each platform is provided with one or more gutters 26 fitted with discharge spout or openings 27, which are adapted to cooperate with branch pipes 28 of one or more movable conduits or drain pipes 29 supported on the sides 5 of the vehicle, the pipes 28 being disconnectible from the spouts 27 so as to allow the necessary movements of the platforms 10 to be effected. In the arrangement shown, each drain pipe 29 may be slid vertically downwards against the action of a spring 31 and then rotated so as to swing the branch pipes 28 out of the path of the platforms, or, alternatively, the branch pipes 28 may be rotatably mounted on the main pipe. Three branch pipes 28 are shown, of which the uppermost and lowest are arranged to be in use when two platforms in the positions 10, 10<a> are employed, or the central one, lying in a plane at right angles to the other two, is arranged to co-operate with a single platform in the position 10<b>.
