Abstract
515,624. Movable weirs. GRIFFITH, W. M., and GLENFIELD & KENNEDY, Ltd. June 7, 1938, No. 16816. [Class 68 (ii)] A weir consisting of a segmental shell a is adjusted by hand or automatically about a horizontal axis g so that the weir may be raised or lowered to regulate the flow of liquid over its upper edge or cill. The weir is connected at its ends by links e to transverse girder f adapted to be raised or lowered by heavier than water members l arranged in wells, the water level in the wells being regulated by pipes communicating with the upper and lower levels. The link work may be replaced by ropes and pulleys. Specification 24759/14, [Class 68 (ii)], is referred to.
