Abstract

Cam-actuated pumps.-In a hydraulic changespeed gear comprising a. pump and motor, a double universal joint is provided in the peripheral driving connection between each hydraulic unit and its socket ring. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the socket ring a has trunnions b, c entering enlarged and recessed parts of a ring d, the ring a being capable of limited angular movement relative to the ring d against the action of springs f, g. The hydraulic unit has extensions j provided with trunnions h, i similarly mounted in the ring d. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the ring a is trunnioned at n to a ring p provided with trunnions b, c having shoes q, r fitting in recesses in the ring d. Specification 203,867, [Class 69 (ii), Hydraulic presses &c.], is referred to.
