Brakes, arrangement and disposition of; controlling-apparatus, arrangements of transmission gear in conjunction with. - The steering-wheel braking apparatus of the parent Specification, in which the braking effect is decreased on the outer wheel on a curve, is arranged with the brake cam k above the steering pivot instead of below so that the brake-operating gear and the steering gear do not interfere with each other. The cam k is operated by a shaft a having one end carried by a ball joint c on the axle f, the angle a between the axis of the shaft and the steering pivot being either just greater or less than 90‹, according to the direction of rotation of the shaft, in order to obtain the differential braking effect on a curve. The universal joint b connecting the shaft a to the cam k may be situated out of line with the steering pivot, as shown, to obtain a quicker release of the brake on the outer wheel.
