Abstract

221,136. Neave, B. Jan. 3, 1924. Mills and apparatus.-A machine for slicing grain, copra-chips, &c. comprises a drum C carrying longitudinal or helical blades D that co-operate with a fixed blade E, and means for feeding the grain &c. lengthwise to the blades. The blade E is grooved to correspond with an inclined fluted feed-tray H that is oscillated laterally on springs h by a cam I and wiper J, and receives the grain &c. from a hopper N fitted with a grooved feed-roller L and adjustable gate M. The grain &c. is moved forward and held during cutting by an elastic roller F which may be corrugated to enter the grooves in the blade E. The cam-shaft K may also operate a reciprocating grading-sieve O.
