Description
FLOOR WASHING DEVICE MADE OF DISSASSEMBLABLE
ELEMENTS AND PROVIDED WITH A DEVICE FOR WRINGING
THE WASHING SPONGE
The present invention relates to a floor washing device made or dissassemblable elements and provided with a device for wringing the washing sponge.
There are commercially known apparatus consisting of a hollow handle slidingly housing a tie rod operated by a lever and coupled to a system designed for clamping a washing sponge which can be wringed by two rollers mounted on the end portion of a fork rigid with the handle; thus, the user, by operating the lever, can wring the sponge. A drawback of these apparatus is that it is difficult to construct and arrange within the hollow handle the tie road and lever device, as well as to make this device starting from a lot of dissassemblable portions, since it would be advantageous to provide a washing device comprising a single piece or, at most, two pieces.
An object of the present invention is to provide a washing device provided with the tie rod outer lever device and made of dissassemblable elements, which can be easily handled and transported and can be constructed and sold at a low cost.
'ìs ana other objects or the invention will become more apparent to those skillea in the art by the following description.
More specirically the subject floor washing brush is or the type comprising a hanule enaing with a fork supporting rollers for wringing a washing sponge coupled to a tie roa which may be operatea by a lever element ana is characterizea in that said tie roa is arranged on the outsiae of said hanale and may be coupled,in a aissassemblable way, to saia lever element and washing sponge.
The invention will become more apparent hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 is an exploaea view OI the elements characterizing the floor washing brush according to the invention; rigtire 2 is a perspective view or the brush of fig. 1, in its use condition;
rigure 3 is a ront view, on a reaucea scale, of the floor washing brush of fig. 2; and
figure 4 is a rrcnt view, on a less scale tSen figures 1 ana 2, of the mashing brush of fig. 3, with its washing sponge being wringed.
with reterence to the rigures, the floor washing brush comprises a handle 2 thereon there is alrixea an element or lever 3 operating a tie rod 4 arranged on the outside of the handle 2 and coupled to a metal element 5 in turn couple a to a washing sponge 6.
In particular, the coupling between the sponge 6 ana metal element is carried out by rorce fitting the washing sponge 6 in a concave portion 7 or said element 5 and/or by glueing said sponge 6 in said concave portion.
The tie rod 4 consists or an end portion 8 which is of curved shape ana ends with a rectilinear portion 9 designed to be arranged in a recess 10 wormed on the metal element 5.
baid recess 10 is provided with ana end hole li thereinto the end 12 of said rectilinear portion 9 penetrates, and with a bridge element 13, coupled on both sides or the metal element 5 and adapted to prevent the tie rod rrom disengaging from said element 5.
The tie rod 4 passes through a recess 14 formed on a fork 15, affixed to the end portion 16 of the handle 2, and is coupled through a hook 17 to a clamping element 18 rigid with the lever 3.
baid lever 3 consists or a cylindrical handle 19 supported by a hollow body 20 which has its side enas 21 of curved shape.'o said enas 21, inside the hollow 22 defined thereby, there is coupled the clamping element 15.
Said lever j is hinged to the handle 2 through a riveted 29.
The rork 15 is provided, on each of the two sides 23,24 with two legs 25,2b slightly bent at the ena 2(,thereto the rollers 28 are artixeå.
The rio or washing brush is shown in its completely assembled conaition in rigure 2.
In order to assemble the brush, the hook 17 of the tie rod 4 is rirstly inserted onto the clamping element l;then the tie rod 4 is engaged in the hollow 14 formed on the fork 15 and, finally, the end portion 8 of the tie rod 4 is arrangea between the rollers 2M.
During this assembling method, the lever 3 is completely rrontwara bent (in the direction or the arrow r or fig. 2) with the Side enas 21 of the hollow body 20 or the lever J supported by the handle 2.
At this time the sponge b holding metal element 5 is introduced into the gap jO between the rollers 28 and the rectilinear portion 9 or the ena portion 8 of the tie roa 4 is witted in the related slot 10 of the metal element 5.During this step said rectilinear portion 9 is compelled to pass unaer the bridge element 13, while the ena 12 of said portion 9 is introauced into the hole 11.
Then the lever 3 is slightly pulled in the direction or the arron G of rigure 2, SO as no complete the assembling of the brush 1, which will be reaay ror use,as shown in rig. 3 In order to wring the washing sponge b, the lever 3 must be pulled in the direction or the arrow
G of rigure 2 so as to cause the tie rod 4 to entrain the washing sponge b through the rollers 2 to assume the conriguration shown in rig.4.
