219,874. Marks, E. C. R., (Lee's Pneumatic Load Carrier). Dec. 28, 1923. Stop valves.-A pnuematic cushion for attachment to a load to be carried on the person, such as a mail pouch, comprises elongated rubber tube 10 with a waterproof cover 12 having an overlapping stiff top portion 13. The ends 15 of the tube are vulcanized together and are gripped between the contracted ends 17, 18 of the parts 12, 13, to which are stitched the straps to which the load is secured. A valve 11 for the tube 10 comprises a stem 11<a> and a cap 11<b>. Flats 23 on the stem allow air to enter the tube when the latter is distorted after first loosening the cap.
