Abstract

213,261. Weiss, J. March 19, 1923, [Convention date]. Body attachments, inflatable; inflating; swimming appliances.-A device for use as an aid to swimming comprises a belt 10 to which inflatable globular members 29, 30 are secured by snap-hooks, &c. Members 29, 30 communicate independently through tubes with outlets 15, 16 of a gas-generating device 11 secured to the belt. The device 11, Fig. 2, is adapted to generate acetylene, and comprises a water chamber 13 and carbide chamber between which communication can be established through a normally spring- closed valve 20 which can be opened by a press-button 22. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes accessories for use with the above arrangement comprising a plate 35, Fig. 3 (Cancelledl, which can be strapped to a limb and has hinged vanes 40 giving a purchase on the water during the driving strode, and a glove provided with a web 34, Fig. 5 (Cancelled). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
