Ornamenting; ornamenting fabrics.-A process for producing designs in vulcanized rubber on surfaces of rubber, glass, paper, wood, leather, fabrics, &c., consisting in applying a film of rubber and sulphur, with or without colouring- matter or other ingredients, exposing the film to light through a stencil or negative, whereby parts become vulcanized, and dissolving the unexposed portions of the film by a suitable solvent such as benzene, coal tar naphtha, chlorinated hydrocarbons of the paraffin series, or mixtures of these. The image remaining may be further vulcanized by any known process.
