Abstract

Two materials of the same or different character, e.g. rubber and iron are united by an intermediate layer comprising the deposit from a mixture of rubber solutions, the rubber of at least one of which differs in its combined sulphur content from the remainder. The term rubber includes rubber or rubber-like hydrocarbon. Materials which may be thus united include rubber, balata, synthetic and imitation rubber, leather, paper, fabric, wood, metal, glass and so forth. The bond may be vulcanized.
