Abstract
An oven has an oven liner (1) which can be closed by a door as a baking and roasting compartment, and which is provided with heating means at the bottom and top. The oven liner (1) consists at least partially of a glass or glass-ceramic member composed of a plurality of component parts. Radiant or halogen heating elements, which are part of a try-like or trough-like insulating support, serve as heating means for the oven liner (1). The insulating support is fitted with its radiation side on the oven liner (1) from the outside. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Oven
This invention relates to an oven having an oven liner which can be closed by a door as a baking and roasting compartment, which is provided with heating means respectively at the bottom and top.
Ovens of this type are generally known.
Such an oven consists of an oven liner which is provided with a charging opening and which is generally formed from an enamelled sheetmetal body. One heating element is associated with the top and one with the bottom of the oven liner, as upper and lower heating means.
A grill heating element is also often provided at the top, in the interior of the lining housing.
Furthermore, a circulating-air fan may also be disposed in the oven liner at the back to circulate hot air. Appropriate guides are formed laterally in the sheet-metal body by means of stamped-in portions for the insertion of the baking sheets and the like. With such an oven liner consisting of an enamelled sheet-metal body, the disadvantage arises that contamination occuring during the baking or roasting operation quickly becomes burnt on to the enamelled and hence porous sheet-metal walls so that manual removal is often no longer possible in practice. The use of chemical cleaning agents is also not always an advantage. In order to overcome the disadvantage indicated, cookers have become known wherein the interior of the oven liner is cleaned pyrolytically or its side walls may be lined by fitting additional replaceable wall members with a catalytic coating. These two measures increase the cost of such cookers considerably, however. This is also why cookers equipped in such a manner can only be manufactured and sold in small numbers.
Now it is an object of the invention to provide a liner for an oven which is less sensitive to contamination which tends to adhere and which can easily be cleaned manually with extremely little expense. At the same time, the heating of the oven liner is to be improved with simultaneous reduction in the heat losses.
The invention accordingly provides an oven having an oven liner which can be closed by a door as a baking and roasting compartment, which is provided with heating means respectively at the bottom and top, wherein the oven liner consists of an all-glass or partialglass member composed of a plurality of individual parts and radiant heating elements or halogen heating elements which are part of a tray-like or trough-like insulating support serve as the heating means, the insulating support being mounted with its radiation side on the oven liner from the outside.
The oven according to the invention is distinguished by a number of advantages which are to be seen, inter alia, in that contamination can be removed very easily, without special aids, from the walls of the oven liner which consist of glass or the like and are therefore very smooth, because this contamination does not enter into any such intimate bond or adhesion with the smooth glass surfaces as is otherwise the case with enamelled lining surfaces. Since all the heating elements are outside the actual liner c9mpartment these are not in the way either, during manual cleaning of the interior walls of the lining. The tray-like or trough-like insulating member as a support for the radiant heating elements or halogen heating elements simultaneously forms the thermal insulation for the lining housing from the outside so that the separate provision of a lining insulation is eliminated.
Further preferred features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description taken in conjunction with the subordinate craims.
The invention is illustrated by way of example in the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of an oven liner, and,
Figure 2 is a fragmentary sectional elevation of a heating element for the oven liner.
Referring to the drawings, a parallelepiped oven liner is designated by 1 and is part of an oven not otherwise illustrated. The oven liner consists of wall members 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and a marginal flange 8 surrounding its charging opening 7. Now in this oven liner 1, the bottom and top wall members 3, 5 and possibly also the other wall members 2, 4, 6 may consist of glass or glass-ceramic so that the oven liner 1 is constructed in the form of partial or all-glass body. The individual glass wall members 2 to 6 may be pushed into a supporting or holding frame or be held together by a clip connection or the like. As a result, there is the advantage that these wall members can be detached and so can be cleaned outside the oven.In order to illuminate the interior (baking and roasting compartments) of the oven liner, a light device can be provided which is preferably disposed behind one of the glass wall members 2 to 6 so that its bulb can be replaced if necessary, after the corresponding wall member has been taken out.
A radiant heating element 10 or halogen heating element or a combination of both serves as heating for the oven liner 1 in an advantageous manner. The heating resistor 11 of the heating element 10 is accommodated in a tray-like or trough-like insulating support 12 which is fitted with its open radiation side on the oven liner 1 from the outside. It is advisable to cover the tray-like or trough-like insulating support 12 with a pane of glass stuck onto its edge 13 so that live parts cannot be touched. One heating insulating support 12 may be associated with each of the bottom and top wall members 3 and 5, or, in addition to this, such a heating insulating support 12 may also be associated with each of the side wall members 2 and 4.
The circuit for the radiant or halogen heating elements 10 may be adapted so that each can be set in operation along or all together or in pairs, for example the bottom and top heating elements or the two side heating elements.
