Endless chain machines; feeding; delivery.-A confectionary casting machine comprises a pair of chains 1, 2 composed of equal numbers of flat mould plates 3, Fig. 5, furnished with mould cavities 14 adapted to enclose the liquid mass during cooling. The chains pass over polygonal drums 5, 6, 7, 9, 10. Fig. 1, and diverge at the front end to receive the liquid material from a hopper 11 which is closed laterally by side plates 13. Corresponding pairs of mould plates interengage by pins and holes 15, Fig. 5, and, during cooling, the plates are clamped together by forked clamps 20, Fig. 3, mounted on lateral endless chains and forced into engagement with bevelled edges on the plates by rollers 21 backed by springs 24. The cast articles are detached by bladed cylinders 25, 29, Fig. 4, and are removed by belts 28, 30.
