Pliers.-In parallel-movement jaw pliers of the kind comprising a pair of pivoted crossed hand levers and a pair of parallel jaw members which are disposed' on opposite sides of the main pivot and have solid jaw portions and bifurcated stems embracing the hand levers, the front ends of the jaw members being pivoted to the nose portions of the hand levers and the rear ends of the jaw members having pin-and-slot connection with the handle portions of the hand levers, the nose portions of the hand levers are rounded and engage rounded recesses in the jaws so that the pivots are relieved of pressure. One of the handles may be of ordinary shape and the other of endless bow form. The crossed hand levers a, b are pivoted together at c. The nose portions a<2>, b<2> are pivoted at f to the forward ends of the jaw members d, e and the handle portions a<1>, b<1> are connected by pins g and slots h to the rear ends of the jaw members. In use, the pivots f are relieved of pressure by rounded contacting surfaces A, B formed on the nose portions of the hand levers and on the solid jaws. Two of the edges of the jaw members may be shaped to form cutting edges i. In the construction shown in Fig. 5 one handle b<1> is of usual shape and the other handle a<1> is formed as a loop providing an inner grip part a<3> for use when the tool is opened out fully to avoid undue stretching of the hand.
