Abstract

214,535. Atwood, H. N. Aug. 21, 1923. Pulleys.-A driving-pulley comprises a series of plies or layers 1 of wood alternating with layers 2 of rubber, the assemblage. being subjected to a process of vulcanization whereby the plies or layers are intimately bonded into a composite whole with the peripheral edges of the layers forming the pulley driving surface. Foraminous material such as wire meshing mav be embedded in the rubber plies. The invention is applicable to split or other types of pulleys, and is intended to obviate belt-slip.
