Abstract

213,405. Ward, E. L. March 6, 1923. Grilling and toasting appliances.-A reversible toasting and grilling appliance, comprises a twisted wire handle A having separated looped ends a, a' from which a single-wire food-carrying frame is suspended. The frame comprises upwardly and downwardly bent front and back members, B, B', b, b<1>-b<5>, outwardly projecting portions b<9>, b<10>, which may also be upwardly directed at their ends, and a horizontal portion b<6> which engage the loops a, a<1>. The lower parts b<7>, b<8> of the portions B, B<1> are sloped inwardly whereby slices of various thicknesses may be accommodated by wedge action. The parts b<9>, b<10> are arranged to lie on a circle whereby muffins &c. may rest on the bottom of the frame. The members b<3>, b<4> project above the remainder of the frame and are bent slightly forwardly to ensure that the frame will hang vertically. A drip tray, of the same length as the frame, may be supported by rings which engage the bottoms of the end members B, B<1> In Fig. 4, a drip tray C is of greater length and is suspended by a bent wire handle D. The tray C is provided with a pouring-lip D<1>.
