484,914. Grilling and toasting appliances; roasting chestnuts. BRIDGELAND, P. Nov. 10, 1936, No. 30709. [Class 28 (i)] A. toasting or grilling device comprises a frame b with wires a threaded through holes therein, the said wires being bent upwardly at c to form retaining members for the food. The wires a are joined by a bar d and may be revoluble in the frame so that they may be swung towards, or away from, the face of the frame to accommodate articles of various thickness. The wires a may be arranged in two groups, each having a bar d, so that the groups may be swung in opposite directions. The end wires a are bent. inwardly at e. The frame b is attached. to the handle by a ball joint g, h, the ball g being on a stem f screwed into the frame. The claw h is formed by bent wires surrounded by a sliding sleeve j which is moved towards the joint to clamp it. A drip pan may be permanently or removably secured to the bottom of the frame b. When the pan is removable, accidental displacement thereof is prevented by a wire k engaging the front inside edge. The device may be used for roasting chestnuts.
