Abstract

213,089. Edwards, A. Feb. 27, 1923. Fastenings for can lids.-In a can lid fastening of the type in which a spring- pressed bolt mounted in a housing on the lid engages a hole in the mouth piece of the can, a rib 23 is provided below the housing 6 to support it on the lid and a metal cap 21 is secured over the hole in the mouth piece to prevent entry of water. A hole 22 in the cap permits water that may have collected during washing of the can to drain off. A hole 20 through the housing and bolt is provided for a sealing wire.
