Abstract
211,984. Kelly, J. Dec. 6, 1922. Earpieces and attachments.-A resilient rubber pad attachment for telephone earpieces is contructed of sponge rubber and covered on the surface contacting with the ear with thin strip rubber, leather or the like. The pad A may be formed with flanges a, b, Fig 1, to clip on to the cap of an ordinary receiver, or may be joined by agglutinant to a metal cap c, Fig. 3, adapted to screw on to a receiver when the ordinary earpiece has been removed. The metal cap may be extended to embrace partly the periphery of the pad A. The skin of thin strip rubber secured to the face B of the pad may be formed with ventilating passages in the form of grooves, or holes may be formed through the thickness of the pad. The strip covering may also extend over other portions of the periphery than the face B. According to the Provisional Specification the pad may be formed of any soft or resilient material.
