555,615. Asymmetrically-conducting resistances. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and RICHARDS, E. A. Feb. 27, 1942, No. 2589. [Class 37] A rectifying disc, shown as comprising a base plate 1, selenium layer 2, and counter-electrode 4, is provided with a cover plate 5 extending over the active surface, so that, on the application of a protective enamel layer 8, it can not make actual contact except at the edges. A circumferential rib 6 and an upturned outer edge 7 may be added to assist in preventing penetration. Specification 526,482 is referred to.
