[Class 37] ; A counter electrode is applied to a selenium rectifier by first coating the selenium with an insulating layer having an aperture or apertures, into each of which a piece of relatively soft metal is inserted and pressure applied to obtain a small and effectively limited rectifying area. Preferably the counter electrode contains a substantial amount of, or is composed of, thallium. Specification 503,335 is referred to.
