Abstract

211,354. Jacobson, E. C. March 12, 1923. Fixing by screwed sockets with clamping and toothed holding devices and flange attachments. -A broom is provided with a flanged screwed socket engaged by a screwed sleeve on the handle provided with a lock nut to fix it in the sleeve. As shown, applied to a broom head 10 provided with a neck portion 11, the screwed socket 12 is provided with a flange 13 having a downwardly extending edge or flange 14 enclosing the upper end of the part 11 of the straw &c. of the head 10, and its lower edge has teeth 16 for locking it in position. The screwed sleeve 20 on the handle 19 is threaded at its upper end 21 for a lock nut 22 which is serewed-up against the flange 13 to lock the handle in the socket. The neck portion 11 is bound below the flange 13 with wire 15, and at its lower part with wire 17, the latter binding being protected by a covering sleeve 18.
