Abstract

192,871. Davies, E. Dec. 12. 1921. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Fixing by detachable sockets with locking and securing devices.-A device for attaching the handle to a broom, brush or the like, comprises a plate a formed for attachment, to the stock a', and a socket b for the handle c having clamping lugs d and bolt e, the part connecting the plate and socket being formed with strengthening ribs h, and the socket being formed with longitudinal corrugations i to grip the handle and prevent rotation. The corrugations i may be cut or formed in the thickness of the metal as shown in Fig. 4, or they may be stamped by bending the full thickness of the metal.
