A device for holding a handle 22 of a brush in a threaded aperture 20 in the brush head 12, Fig. 2, comprises a U-shaped clamp 26 provided with legs 28, 30 through apertures 31, 33 of which the handle 22 may pass to be secured by a screw 34. A strip 40 extends from the leg 30 and has a flat portion 42 which bears against the surface of the brush head 12. An angulated portion 46 bears against the corner 44 of the brush head and is of sufficient width to prevent rotation of the handle. The screw is provided with an eye 36 so that the brush may be hung. In a modification shown in Fig. 5, the body of the attachment 56 is shaped to conform with the contour of the brush head 52. The attachment consists of a strip 58 of metal having an opening 60 about which a collar 64 is welded. The brush handle 54 passes through the collar 64 and aperture 60 and is held in place by a set screw 66. The strip 58 has angulated end portions 72, 76 which engage the corners 74, 78 respectively of the brush head. In a further modification, shown in Fig. 9, the brush handle 102 is held in place by a clamp 104. The attachment for the brush head 100 is made from a single piece blank from which a tang is struck to form the clamping lugs. The attachment shown in Fig. 10 has a strip 134 protruding from a collar 128. The front edge 136 of a strip 134 may be sharpened to form a scraper.
