Abstract

182,045. Griffiths, H. Oct. 5, 1921. Fixing by detachable socket-pieces with securing-devices.-Means for securing brush or broom handles, of the kind comprising a slit metal socket having three lugs by which it is attached to the brush head, and a bolt for clamping it on the handle, has a long forwardly projecting lug 2 and two shorter rear lugs 3 and the lugs 4 for the bolts 6 are at one side between the lug 2 and one of the lugs 3. The lugs 2, 3 are fixed to the brush stock by nails or screws. The handle 8 is passed into the socket 1 and into the hole 7 in the stock, and the socket is then clamped on it by means of the bolt 6. A screw 9 may be passed through a hole in the socket into the handle to secure it further. The device is preferably made from pressed sheet metal.
