Abstract

211,255. Rutter, T. C. Nov. 27, 1922. Electrodes.- Accumulators are provided with block or mass electrodes of such a shape that the passages between adjacent blocks are of tortuous form. The blocks may for example be provided with projections and recesses or they may be formed as toothed racks. Fig. 2 shows in plan a portion of a cell in which the electrodes a, b, c have co-operating projections and recesses. The electrodes are formed by top and bottom plates which are connected by grids f, g. Fig. 4 shows in plan a cylindrical cell in which a central electrode of star shape is built up of top and bottom plates connected together by grids o, the radiating arms being received in recesses between projecting portions k on an outer concentric electrode.
