354,318. Galvanic batteries. WILLIAMS, S. J., 9A, Stratford Road, Kensington, London. May 7, 1930, No. 14028. [Class 53.] Electrodes.-The positive plate of an accumulator consists of a central core 1 of active material on each face of which is a lead grid 3 so that a large exposed surface is provided external to the active material. The grids may have wedge-shaped bars and may be cast round the active material as described in Specification 268,179, [Class 53, Galvanic batteries]. During the forming process and subsequent use of the accumulator the grids become oxidized and progressively increase the capacity of the accumulator.
