[Class 53.] An accumulator plate consists of a number of pasted grids a united at their ends to metal bars c. d. Each grid is surrounded with an envelope b made of perforated, porous or threaded rubber which is vulcanized after it has been placed in position thus causing it to shrink into contact with the grid. The grids a may be produced by cutting a pasted and formed grid into strips of the required width.
