Abstract
210,855. Arbuckle, A. J. Nov. 6, 1922. Fluid-actuated valves. -A fluid-actuated check valve 37, Fig. 7, for controlling the outflow of solids from a settling- tank through a casing 35 to an outlet 38, is carried in a housing 36 and is free to slide on a reciprocating shaft 48, glands 47. 53 being provided between the valve and casing 36, and the valve and shaft 48 respectively. Brackets 45 serve as guides for the valve and weighted levers 41 tend to keep it in the closed position. In a modification, Fig. 11, the outlet 88 from the casing 84 is controlled by a valve 89 carried in a housing 87 and free to slide on a reciprocating shaft 85, glands 91, 92 being provided between the valve and casing 87, and the valve and shafts 85 respectively. A weighted lever 94, forked at 97 tends to keep the valve closed. Specification 195,467, [Class 46, Filtering &c.], is referred to.
