Abstract

210,812. Wardman, C. B. June 2, 1923. Spring hinges; barrel hinges.-Floating bushes M, M<2> are provided between the hinge pin B and the socket K<2>, K<3>, L<2> of the hinge parts K, L, each of these bushes extending from the socket of one hinge part into the socket of the other hinge part so as to take the lateral stresses. The pin is fixed to the socket K<2> and a spring N, tending to open or close the hinge, is attached to a collar B<3> on the pin and the socket L<2>. A plug K<5> closes a threaded hole K<4> at the upper part of the hinge, adapted to take a grease syringe to force lubricant to the bushes through an axial hole B<5> in the pin.
