Abstract

210,580. Buckney, T. W., Hubbard, H. H., and Chandler, D. J. Dec. 8, 1922. Wheels.-Cooling fluid is supplied to a chamber 13 of conical shape secured to the side of a wheel 2 adjacent to the axis, and spreads through the pores of the wheel by the action of centrifugal force. The chamber 13 bears against a washer 28 on the side of the wheel, and has a partition plate 15 secured to the spindle 1. In the plate 15 are holes 20 through which the fluid passes to the inner space 19 formed by the plate 15 and the side of the wheel.
