Abstract

208,635. Taylor, H. G., and Smith, A. P. Dec. 15, 1922. Fluid-actuated valves; combinations of interdependent valves.-In a hydraulic press or other hydraulic system having an inlet valve C, Fig. 1, controlled by means of a cam crank or eccentric g on a hand-operated shaft G, automatic means are proprovided to move the shaft bodily so as to permit the inlet valve to close, when a predetermined pressure is attained in the system. The shaft G is eccentrically mounted in a rotatable housing Q, having a lever q, Fig. 3, acted on by an adjustable spring R and a plunger t subject to the pressure in the system. When an exhaust valve J is also provided, its operating cam &c. m is made of greater throw than the cam g, so that the valve play be opened at any time irrespective of the position of the housing.
