Abstract
Hydrocarbon conversion catalyst compositions comprising a catalyst of the noble metal type dispersed on a support material, comprising a conventional refractory inorganic oxide support material together with an active component consisting of one ore more oxides selected from the group consisting of Cr<u2>uO<u3>u, MnO<u2>u, rare earth oxides, V<u2>uO<u5>u and MoO<u3>u. Such catalyst compositions when poisoned by sulphur, deactivated by coking, or both, can be regenerated by heating the catalyst in an oxygen-containing atmosphere at a temperature in the range 100` to 500`C, followed by a reduction treatment.
