Abstract

Lateral-splash guards. - A circular frame 6 to carry a splash guard is mounted on the axle or on a ball bearing 7 upon the hub cap 9 and is connected by arms 5 to arms 1 attached to the steering- swivel. The splash guard 12 is mounted on a segment 13 adapted to rotate with slight friction on the socket 11 of the frame 6, this rotation being controlled by two springs 18 attached at 19 to the frame 6 and by a lug 17 to the segment 13. The segment 13 is carried by an undivided ring which is fitted in an axial direction on to the socket 11, and is prevented from transverse movement by a curved edge 21 on frame 6 engaging a groove 20 and by a hook 22 fixed to radial arm of the frame 6. The guard may be raised and held on a spring bolt.
