Lateral splash guards for the wheels of motor vehicles comprise a metal frame a supported by arms d from a pin f on the hub cap and fitted with a rubber flap c shaped more or less to the portion of the wheel below the frame, rotation of the guard being prevented by arms k which pass around the front and back of the wheel and are attached to the boss of the short steering-arm in the case of a front wheel and to the axle casing or spring in the case of a rear wheel. According to the Provisional Specification, the anchoring- arms for the rear guard are attached to the wing.
