Attachments for milling; turning.-A milling- attachment for a lathe comprises a holder a adapted to be held in the tool rest e of the lathe and supporting the spindle of the milling-cutter b, which is driven through a flexible shaft q from a pulley i. The pulley is supported in a bracket j and is driven by a belt i<1> from one of the stepped pulleys k. The bracket is supported on the headstock by studs or screws l, several holes m for which are provided, whereby different pulleys k may be used to obtain different speeds of rotation of the tool. In place of the belt drive, a frictionwheel engaging a headstock pulley, or a spurwheel engaging a headstock gear-wheel may be used to drive the shaft g.
