Packeting cigarettes and coupons or the like in receptacles.-Relates to a method of and means for depositing coupons, photos, separating partitions, or similar articles into cigarette and like packages. According to the invention, the coupons &c. 5 are fed from a roll 6 by feeding or printing rollers 8, which may be associated with registering devices, through a, guide 9, and into a chamber 4 lying between channels 2, 3 containing cigarettes which are to form two layers in a packet. Tongue shaped jaws 12, 13 feed the coupons from the severing devices to the chamber. Devices 10, 11 sever the coupon from the band, and a suitably shaped plunger enters the parts 2, 4, 3 and moves the assembled cigarettes and coupon longitudinally of the cigarettes through a mouthpiece and into a box or cover. The guide 9 may be so disposed that the coupon is deposited on the top of the cigarettes, or beneath them, or between an inner and an outer cover applied to the cigarettes. Two or more bands may be fad to a common cutting-device, or each band may have a cutting-device. The device may be used for the introduction of coupons into packets of articles other than cigarettes, and is stated to be applicable to the introduction of coupons into finished packages.
