Abstract

206,666. Kuhne, J. Oct. 9, 1922. Forging nails and rivets.-A cold press for heading rivets, screws, wire nails, &c. has a cylindrical die-holder 5 inserted in a corresponding recess 4 in the frame 1. The holder, which may contain. the usual feeding sleeve 18, Fig. 1, for the workplace, has fixed and moving dies 13, 14 to clamp the work during heading. The holder 5 has an inclined flat 6 engaged by a corresponding face on a cylinder 8 which is clamped by a bolt 9. The die 14 is actuated by an eccentric 21, slide 24, and a toggle-block 23.
