Automatic-feed weighers.-In discharging-apparatus for pneumatic elevators in which the discharge is controlled by the action of the weight of the material on a movable hopper or chamber, the material is discharged into a hopper a provided with valves c normally permitting communication between the hopper and a chamber d which, when charged with a predetermined weight of material, descends, puts the chamber into communication with the atmosphere, and closes the valves c. The chamber is counterbalanced and its upper part normally seats tightly against a packing ring d<1> surrounding the neck b of the hopper. The valves c are closed during the downward movement by the action of the top of the chamber on bell-crank levers g.
