Abstract

Sleepers, securing rails to; chair keys.-A sleeper b is connected to a flatbottomed rail a by a key k adapted to extend transversely of the rail beneath an upstanding projection m formed from the sleeper, the projection being provided with a tongue o adapted to be bent into engagement with the end of the key when the latter is in position. The key may be formed with a recess n to receive the tongue o. The projection m may be in the form of a loop, as shown, oi may consist of a pair of lugs provided with one or two tongues. Both edges of the rail may be secured by transverse keys or, as shown, one of the edges may be engaged beneath a pressed-up lug h on the sleeper.
