Abstract
206,012. Smith, A. E. B. Nov. 1, 1922. Picture and like frames. - In picture, photograph, and like frames, channel members 1, Fig. 1, preferably mitred at the corners, are arranged to form a flush joint between each pair of adjacent members, and are secured together at the corners by sheet metal strips 3 passed through loops, eyes, &c. 2 on the members and folded at the ends over the loops &c. The loops &c. 2 are arranged to lie substantially parallel to the plane of the joint between two channel members, and may be pressed out in relief when the members are of metal. Fig. 3 shows a modification wherein aT-shaped metal strip 5 is used for securing the members together, the vertical arm being inserted in an auxiliary loop 6 upon the back-board of the frame and the horizontal arm being slipped laterally within hook-like lugs 4 upon the frame members 1, after which the three ends of the strip are bent over.
